“Delayed Harvest” (DH) streams in South Carolina are briefly described below. Delayed Harvest means that for certain times each year, certain streams are catch-and-release only (no trout can be kept or be in your possession) and you must use single-hook artificial lures only, i.e., one single hook per lure (no live bait is allowed)."
This trip is only open to high school boys. We have trips for all ages and some for girls but this is being set aside for the high school guys.
Last year we started the first annual Jan and Feb trips to these waters and now we are preparing to go after them again.
We have our own cabin to use for all of our Mountain Rest/Oconee Trips. We have heat, A/C, lights, a grill just outside, a great campfire/devotional area, and all of it is just a couple miles from the best trout fishing in SC.
The man above is Mr. Taylor our wonderful land owner who supports our chapter. We are in his and his wife's debt for sure.
We will be fly fishing ONLY on this trip in some of the most beautiful spots in SC. All tackle is supplied. On Friday night we will eat at a local restaurant, on Saturday morning we will enjoy omelets, Saturday lunch is snacks, Saturday dinner is venison chili. Sunday brunch is at Waffle House. If someone wants to help us we could use a precooked meal, cold subs, or other such things. Guys are welcome to bring snacks and drinks if they want something special.
We will leave from Bethel Baptist Church at 5:00PM Friday Feb 10th. The cost is $100. There are only 4 youth spots available and so it is important that you register asap.
